HIM professionals focus their career on one or more of the following practices: making sure medical information is given to others appropriately, maintaining and improving the quality of medical documents, managing the billing of and the earnings from healthcare services, making sure electronic medical records are kept properly, analyzing medical information, or making sure medical information stays secure remains private when necessary, making sure medical data, like patient information, is documented correctly.
